A eulogy site for George has been created here:
http://defender.west-point.org/service/eulogy/listing/1,,39580,00.html Reported by Russ Allen: Dear Select Few, It is with greatest regret that I must inform you that our friend and classmate, George Frederick Munro III (Company D3) unexpectedly died on Thursday March 19, 2009 of a heart attack after experiencing chest pain. George is survived by his wife Patricia and son George F. Munro IV, whom I understand is only 6 or 7 years old. George was Company D3's resident Californian, hailing from Menlo Park. As a cadet, he was involved in flying, fine arts, languages, and finance, and he attended Jungle School in Panama. After graduation, he became an Army Aviator in Germany and later left the military as a Captain. He received an Ivy-League MBA from the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in 1989, after which he utilized his Spanish language skills to land employment with Bankers Trust in Mexico. George later became a serial entrepreneur in Mexico, primarily in education technology and telecommunications. His most recent effort was as owner of Talk More, Inc. Unbeknownst to me, George was known as "Chip" by his high school classmates and friends in Mexico. George resided with his family in Lomas De Reforma, on the western edge of Mexico City. George was actually born in Mexico to American citizen parents. Memories, Condolences, and Trust Fund Given the young age of his son, known as "Georgie", we thought it would be nice to prepare a compilation of memories about George from his West Point classmates as an addition to a similar project being pursued by his high school classmates. It is a worthy project that someday will help a son get to know his father a little better. Please send your stories, pictures, and simple condolences to me at russallen11@comcast.net. Also, a trust fund is being set up for Georgie's education. Let me know if you are interested in donating and I will send the details when arranged.
