Niles, Ohio                                   Lieutenant
Due to his tenure under the green girl, Cuda ended his
cadet career as the starman who never was.  When his
GPA got too high, he made sure that additional time
was put into dayroom activities, of which he was the
undisputed champion.  However, we all knew who to
look up when we needed to pass our numbers courses.

A Message from Tele Halkias (29 MAY 2003):

Classmates,

rocky4a.jpg (138462 bytes)The following appeared today in the Apalachicola Times, and was sent to me by the article's author, Mr. David Adlerstein.  I have included a link to the main story, a copy of the sidebar story in the paper's print version, and a picture sent to me from the family's memorial service with Dom's battalion command picture, that ran on the front page.

Two very well done articles.  The class should officially extend its thanks to Mr. Adlerstein for doing such a great job by both our classmate and the Academy.  He can be reached at his contact info listed below, and at

Mr. Halkias:

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. Mr. and Mrs. Baragona spoke very lovingly of you to me, and your pictures with Lt. Col. Baragona figured prominently in the photo albums that were on display at the reception. I worked your quote into the sidebar.
My lead article is posted on our website at http://www.apalachtimes.com/ [NOTE:  direct link is http://www.apalachtimes.com/leadstoryselect.php?id=111 ]

I am attaching the sidebar that accompanied the story to this email, as well as the front-page photograph that accompanied the lead story.

Thanks again and any help you can provide on this story in the future will be equally appreciated.
Best wishes,

David Adlerstein

A Message from Tele Halkias (19 JUL 2004):

Dear Classmates,

A little more than a year after Dominic Baragona's death in Iraq, I found this official link to Arlington National Cemetery's site that is very, very well done.  For those of you who did not have a chance to be at the services last year, or visit since, I think you will find this both informative and solemn....a reminder of what it sometimes takes from the ranks of both our citizens and the Long Gray Line to answer the nation's call. May God watch over all of you.

Very Respectfully,

Tele, A-3
