[Brian Bogard has volunteered to put together the 2001 Army Navy Tailgate Party.  It will be held the day of the game (December 1st, 2001) near Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, PA.  The details from Brian are below.]

The Class of 1982, "The Select Few," would like to extend an invitation to each of you, your family and friends to attend our first ever class tailgate to be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  2001, more so than in recent years, is a more poignant reminder of our ties to West Point and what our Alma Mater truly stands for. 

This is an ARMY-NAVY game that you will not want to miss. Although not an official class reunion event, the tailgate will be the first event to kick-off our 20th reunion beginning in 2002. What better way to show support to our class and to the mighty ARMY team. Come one, come all and make our class tailgate your family and friends command central prior to and after the game. THE PURCHASE OF TAILGATE TICKETS DOES NOT, REPEAT, DOES NOT INCLUDE TICKETS TO THE GAME. THANK YOU.

Tom Lynch, John Hill and I have planned for a wonderful pre-game and post-game tailgate event. In fact, all of the credit for the actual catering of the event goes to Tom. We will provide a continental breakfast menu from 8:30 - 10:30 AM, then from 11:00 - 5:00 PM, transition to a pre-game and post-game traditional tailgate meal with all the trimmings. Beverages are included, including coffee, tea, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. It promises to be a great event and we can tell you that you will not leave hungry or thirsty.

You'll be able to sign up and pay  for the tailgate at our secure on-line registration and payment page (thanks to WP-ORG)..  Please pay careful attention to the instructions.  You will be asked to specify how many people will attend in your party, add their names to the list, and to pay with a credit card.  Please be patient when you click the submit button.  It may take several seconds to tell you the transaction has been processed.  If you click it twice you might get charged twice!

If you will have friends that are not a graduate who will be paying themselves, please have them use your name as the graduate contact.  Please provide a cell phone number of a telephone that you will be carrying at the game in Philadelphia so that we can distribute last minute information should it be required. Everything else should be self-explanatory.

We would also appreciate any additional donations and suggest that you "round up" to the nearest whole dollar (i.e. -- if your order comes to $242, suggest "rounding up" to $250). this fund will cover any contingency costs that are unexpected (hey, for those who know me, I was not even close to being a STAR man, so there may be some errors in my financial calculations). Your considerations and kindness will be appreciated. Please know, all funds will be used to ensure this first event and future events are worthy of the Class of 1982.

Bring your still and video cameras, analog or digital.  After we BEAT NAVY and finish the tailgate, we can post the stories and images on the 2001 Army - Navy Tailgate historical page.
