Ball, commander of the Army's 25th Combat Aviation Brigade" has been spotted in the news in this USA Today article. [2007-01-22] It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our classmate COL Brian Allgood. He was serving as the MNF-I Surgeon in Iraq and was aboard the helicopter that went down over the weekend. An investigation is underway. [2006-11-20] Celia FlorCruz reports that Brian Lauritzen's activities have made the news. Here's the Washington Post article. [2006-11-20] Pete Mansoor is mentioned in several articles regarding "the group with no name" at the Pentagon examining options for Iraq. Here's one in the Washington Post, and an interview in the Journal-World. [2006-10-15] Thanks to many classmates for pointing out that our very own Ritz Ryan was named in Hispanic Business' 100 Most Influentials List 2006. Congratulations, Ritz! [2006-10-24] Les Knotts and Bob Gibson showed up in this Weekly Standard article. [2006-09-29] We've had a few more classmates add their business to the Class Businesses page - check them out! [2006-09-07] Mat Moten and Ritz Ryan will become "Professors, USMA" this month. Ritz is the Head of the Department of Law, Mat is the Deputy Head of the Department of History. This adds to our class' presence on "the Dean's Team" which includes Cindy Jebb, the Deputy Head of the Department of Social Sciences. We also have significant presence at the "Academy Professor" level as well as a number of Associate Professors. familiar name (Mat Moten) in the first paragraph of this article: [2005-11-24] Rich Hook reports that he saw COL Ed Cardon, Commander, 4th Brigade, 3ID on FOX News (1045 EST, 24 NOV 05) and that Ed seemed very upbeat, and that he did a great job explaining how the U.S. soldiers are seeing great improvements on the part of the Iraqi military to better secure their own city of Baghdad! [2005-10-04] Rich Hook reports he saw COL Ed Cardon on MSNBC (1315 EST) explaining about the upcoming election in Iraq. Ed currently commands the 4th BCT/3ID. [2005-09-29] Skip Setliff is in the news, as the Corps of Engineers rebuilds New Orleans (thanks to John Moore for reporting). [2005-09-25] Steve Sanders says he thinks he saw Todd Ebel on an episode of Extreme Makeover, Home Edition, about a wounded Army Master Sergeant at Fort Campbell. There's no mention of Todd on the web page, but I think he's the Cdr, 2BCT, 502d Inf Regt at Fort Campbell, so it makes sense.
